The purpose of the CAC is to be involved in decisions in the areas of planning, budgeting, curriculum, staffing patterns, staff developement, school organization, and dropout prevention. The committee will "involve the professional staff, parents, business and community members in establishing and reviewing the campus' educational plans, goals/performance objectives, and major classroom instructional programs." (TEC, Section 11.251.2b) Additionally, the CAC is to assist the principal in "development, reviewing, and revising the campus improvement plan for the purpose of improving student performance." (TEC, Section 11.253.c)

LBJ's CAC is comprised of the principal, LASA director, Academic director, eight professional staff members, one classified staff representative, eight parent members, two students, one citizen representative, and one business partner representative. The term is for two years and reflect staggered terms so that each year one half of the council completes its term and one half continues on the council.

Meetings are held the second Monday of each month from 4:30-5:30 in the cafeteria. Your first meeting will be April 10, 2006, which will be for orientation purposes only. Your official term will begin May 8,2006.

If you are interested in serving on the LBJ CAC, please fill out the membership form and return it to Mr. Patterson. Elections are held each March.
