Mr. Jones, also known as Mr. J., is the sponsor and head of the Astronomy Club and Physics Club. He teaches astronomy at LBJ. His father was a navigator in World War II, so as a child he learned how to use stellar navigation. He is very dedicated to what he does, which is astronomy.

Ever since he was young, Jones has been into anything related to astronomy, but mostly cosmology, dark energy, parallel universes, quantum gravity, black holes, and time travel. He attended the University of Texas at Dallas and took courses such as astronomy and space science. He is always staying on top of astronomy news, which gives to show just how interested and serious he is about astronomy.

When asked what goals he sets for the Astronomy Club members he says, "Party hearty! Get lunar, see stars, be as one with the universe. Commune with gosh?" Considering what the goals are, one can conclude that Mr. Jones is a humorous person. He enjoys doing what he does, which is teaching.

The Astronomy Club has had the chance to visit interesting places and landmarks such as NASA in Houston and the McDonald Observatory in west Texas. Mr. Jones has connections with important people in the field of astronomy like Dr. Don Winget, Chair of the UT Astronomy Dept. He is also in touch with astronomers from the McDonald Observatory. Mr. Jones is a fun and great teacher to have. The knowledge and connections that Mr. Jones has is why the Astronomy Club is such a great and unique club.
